The biggest fight in Combat Sports at the moment is a heavyweight showdown between Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua.
Wilder made the first offer of $50 million to Joshua to fight in the USA but Joshua declined.
Joshua counter offered Wilder with an offer to fight in the U.K. Wilder released this video and statement about it:
Deontay Wilder: 🚨BREAKING NEWS🚨 for all you @anthonyfjoshua fans… The $50M offer for him to fight me next in the US is still available. Today I even agreed to their offer to fight Joshua next in the UK. If he prefers the fight in the UK, the ball is in their court. It’s up to them to choose.
According to Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn, Wilder took too long to accept the deal so there will be no fight in September:
“Because of how long they’ve [Team Wilder] taken to come back [to us] – September’s out. It doesn’t work for US TV, it doesn’t work in a build up sense either. We’re looking now, IF we do Wilder, for more like October or November. Josh [Joshua] wants to go this fight at Wembley, we all do, but obviously we can’t do the fight at Wembley if it’s not in September. So now we’re looking at Cardiff for potentially October or November. We sent Wilder an improved offer from the first one. If Wilder becomes the ‘A-side’, we have no problems going to America.”
